9 Currently only using NSS for quota and file block policies and intend to now also begin using it’s reporting capabilities. Storage Reporter and/or the Console may or may not have been setup in the past, but they aren’t being used today. New Infrastructure: A number of new infrastructure components must be established, or these roles given to existing NSS servers (if sufficient CPU and RAM resources are available on these servers).

  • Web Server. It will be necessary to add an NSS Console Server to your deployment if one does not already exist.
  • Scanning Server(s). It will be necessary to add one or more NSS Scanning Servers to your deployment if these do not already exist.
  • Database Server. It will be necessary to create two new databases on an existing or new Microsoft SQL Server that is accessible to the NSS Scanning Servers and the NSS Console Server. Scanning/view configurations and results from all scanning operations will be stored in these databases.

See Deployment Topology and System Requirements for more information.
